Neighbor to Neighbor - BJ Volunteer Fire Dept

From May 25, 2017 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Categories: Adult events
The Boulder Junction Volunteer Fire Department (BJVFD) will be the next guest of the Boulder Junction Public Library’s Neighbor to Neighbor Program Series on Thursday, May 25, 7:00 p.m., at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park St.

BJVFD members will be sharing information and materials about the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) program – a collaborative wildland fire hazard mitigation and education initiative involving the Town of Boulder Junction, the Boulder Volunteer Fire Department, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and a variety of community stakeholders.  The risk of wildfire is real in Boulder Junction and Boulder Junction is taking steps to reduce those risks. The Town adopted a CWPP on April 26, 2016. A CWPP is a 5-year planning document that identifies an entire town’s wildfire risk and provides recommendations for projects that protect citizens, homes and essential infrastructure from destructive wildfires.

This presentation is part of the Friends of the Boulder Junction Public Library’s free monthly NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR program series. All members of the public are welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. For more information, please call the library at 715-385-2050.
