Tommy Barr was raised in a city in upstate New York on the west side of Syracuse. He grew up learning Irish, Folk, and Rock ‘n Roll music. He learned to play the guitar at age ten and started his first garage band at sixteen.
In 1977, Barr formed a duo called “Night Fever” with Carmine Mortise on drums. Then in 1979 he started a band called “The Wanderers” with Tom Heaney, Dan Rubino, John Brown, and Dennis Leroy. They were successful for seven years.
In 1988, Barr joined a Folk group called “The Lewis Park Trio” which lasted until 2002. Now Barr plays at nursing homes, bars, parties, country clubs, cruises and festivals. He plays a repertoire of over 1,000 songs from Irish, Folk, Classic Country, and Classic Rock ‘n Roll.
Barr primarily plays in southwest Florida but will be visiting Boulder Junction and wanted to share his music with the residents and visitors.
